Kigali (Rwanda), March 20, 2018. (SPS)- The President of the Republic, Mr. Brahim Gali, arrived in the Rwandan capital of Kigali Monday evening to participate in the extraordinary summit of heads of state and government of the African Union on the adoption of the Protocol establishing the Free Trade Area on 21 March 2018.
Brahim Gali was received at the Kigali International Airport by Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda and current Chairman of the African Union, accompanied by prominent Rwandan officials and dignitaries.
He, along with the heads of State and Government of the African Union, will attend the summit which will adopt the Kigali Protocol on the establishment of the Free Trade Zone, which is considered a historic charter and one of the leading projects on the Agenda of 2063 as the long-term vision of the African Union aimed at achieving an integrated and prosperous And peaceful Africa. The FTA has the potential to transform the wealth of millions of Africans by strengthening trade relations among African countries.
President Gali is accompanied by an important delegation comprising of Mr. Mohamed Mustapha Tleimidi, Minister of Commerce, Hamdi Al-Khalil Mayara, the Minister Delegate for African Affairs, ,Lamen Baali, the Permanent Representative at the African Union, Abdati Breica, the Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Brahim El Bachir, the prosecutor of the Republic, Nanna Labat Rachid, Laramatan for publication Director, Anghia Mohamed Zrug, expert in international trade and negotiator on behalf of the Sahrawi Republic during the preparatory meetings for the upcoming summit.SPS
