Kampala (Uganda), 7 September 2019 (SPS) – The Ugandan Youth Conference held Friday in Kampala, Uganda, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Sahrawi Republic in Uganda, under the theme «Together for the Liberation of Western Sahara,» issued a final statement in which it called upon various African civil society actors to intensify solidarity with the Sahrawi people for the decolonization of Western Sahara.

The statement recalled that Western Sahara remained the last colony in Africa, calling for the urgent application of the resolutions of international law relating to the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence, and for the completion of the decolonization of Western Sahara.

The organizers of the Conference decided to continue organizing activities and exerting efforts to spread and deepen awareness about the suffering of the Sahrawi people. (SPS)
