New York , 11 July 2020 (SPS) – The Polisario Front on Tuesday called in New York to extend the MINURSO mandate to the Human Rights Monitoring, adding that the UN mission should be no exception in this regard. «Although the Security Council has included a human rights component in UN peace missions mandates since 1991, the United Nations Mission for the referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) remains an exception in this regard,» regretted the Polisario in a press release issued in New York during a Security Council debate on peace operations and human rights.
