Shaheed El-Hafed (refugee camps), Feb 10, 2018 (SPS) – The head of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) Fafa Si  Lakhdar Benzerrouki said Saturday, in Shaheed El-Hafed, Sahrawi refugee camps, that “the Moroccan occupation in Western Sahara is a violation of all the international human rights laws, customs and charters and all the human principles and ideals.”
In a speech before the members of the National Sahrawi Human Rights Council at the headquarters of this institution, Si Lakhdar Benzerrouki affirmed that “the colonialism is the most despicable violation of human rights,” underlining that “Algeria, which suffered for 130 years from the same conditions of occupation and colonialism succeeded thanks to its men, women and martyrs, to defeat it and regain their freedom and national independence.”
CNDH’s head lamented “the position of some European countries which boast to protect human rights while they close the eyes on Moroccan human rights violations in Western Sahara.”
On this occasion, she reiterated CNDH’s willingness to increase and deepen the cooperation and partnership with the National Sahrawi Human rights Council in all the fields, notably training and exchange of experiences. (SPS)
