The Namibian ambassador to the European Union, Dr. Kiir Mbwenda, said that the trade agreement between the EU and Morocco will stifle the efforts of the United Nations to reach a political solution in the Western Sahara if such agreements include the Occupied Areas of the Sahara Western.
The issue of decolonization in Western Sahara continues to be a pending debt for the international community, «said the Namibian diplomat, adding:» our voices are breaking with bitterness when talking about occupation in the 21st century. »
The Namibian diplomat made the remarks during a reception to a Saharawi delegation composed of the Frente POLISARIO Representative, Mr. Ab-ba Malainin and Mr. Saleh Sid Mustafá who informed the Namibian leader about the latest progress in the peace process.
The Namibian ambassador reiterated that these agreements do include the Occupied Areas of Occupied Western Sahara, not only represent an obstacle to the peace process, but also a violation of the rights of the Saharawi people.SPS
