Shaheed El-Hafed, 15 March 2020 (SPS) – President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, on Saturday chaired a joined meeting between the Permanent Office of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and the National Committee for Vigilance against Coronavirus.
The meeting touched on the work of the Committee during the past period, especially the national awareness campaign for sensitizing about the emerging Coronavirus, preventive measures to be followed, and establishment of regional extensions of the Committee.
In a directive speech, he appreciated the efforts of the National Committee for Vigilance against the Emerging Coronavirus, stressing the need for all authorities and citizens to cooperate seriously and strictly in the implementation of the procedures set by the Committee, focusing on the prevention aspect.
He urged that careful and continuous follow-up on the developments of the Coronavirus be ensured and that a national mechanism be established for that purpose, involving all authorities, starting from the central level and extending to the basic level.
The President of the Republic praised the efforts made, noting the overall stability of the health situation, and stressing that all citizens and authorities are called upon to maintain a constant state of alert, vigilance and follow-up on the developments in this matter.
He clarified that the necessary precautions should be taken and get ready to deal with the decisions that may be required, including adapting or reviewing the scheduled programs, in a way that is appropriate to these developments and their repercussions, at home and abroad, such as the summer program, «Holidays in Peace».
Finally, the President of the Republic stressed the need of intensifying the awareness campaign, using all available media, and responsible contribution of all for the success of practical steps, such as organizing a health week, focusing on important aspects such as strengthening protection and care mechanisms for hygiene, aeration and environment, monitoring the liberated areas, entrances and crossings on the international borders, and ensuring that the sanitary measures adopted in confronting this pandemic are respected.
