Bir Lahlou, 12 August 2019 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Ghali, has congratulated Sahrawi political prisoners on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, who were prevented by the Moroccan colonial authorities from celebrating Eid al-Adha among their families and relatives.
In a message of congratulations, the President of the Republic underlined that they have written with their unlimited sacrifices and their presence in the heart of the national liberation battle among the masses during the independence uprising stations, and with their persistence, steadfastness and affirmation of their positions in the Moroccan courts and prisons, a bright page in nationalism and willingness to give everything for freedom of their people.
He asserted that the Sahrawi people are winning more victories on all fronts, starting with strengthening the status of the Sahrawi state at the level of the African Union, its institutions and summits and the successive decisions of the European Court of Justice, which unquestionably affirms that Western Sahara and the Kingdom of Morocco are separate and distinct territories.
President Brahim Ghali pointed out that the attempts of the colonialists failed to break the will of peoples eager for freedom and dignity, no matter how they mastered the methods of oppression, repression, torture, racism, discrimination, separation, arrest, abduction, enforced disappearance, genocide attempts, assassinations, gallows, incinerators, throwing of planes, burial in mass graves, bombing with napalm and internationally prohibited white phosphorus, poisoning wells, cutting livelihood, violation of sanctity, restrictions and blockade.
He stressed that the Sahrawi people has always proved it is categorically and definitively determined to seize its rights by all legitimate means, whatever the price and whatever the time required, relying on the strength of its national unity, attachment to its legitimate representative Frente POLISARIO and persistence on commitment.
