Al-Ayoun (Occupied Territories), October 14, 2018 (SPS) – The Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners in Moroccan jails and the Families of Sahrawi Political Prisoners organized on Saturday a solidarity day with Sahrawi political prisoners on hunger strike in the Moroccan jails, in which many Sahrawi activists participated and observed a hunger strike as a symbolic expression of their solidarity with the hunger strikers for nearly a month.
The event was a chance for the Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners in Moroccan jails and the Families of Sahrawi Political Prisoners to express their condemnation of the tragic situation experienced by the hunger strikers, holding the Moroccan occupation fully responsible for the fate of the prisoners and demanding the international community to intervene urgently to save their lives.
It should be noted that the Sahrawi political prisoners are dispersed over many of the Moroccan prisons and living in inhuman conditions under the persistence of the occupation on the confiscation of their basic rights as prisoners of conscience. (SPS)
