Algiers, November 6, 2016 (SPS) Speaker of Algerian People’s National Assembly, Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa, reaffirmed the position of Algeria in favour of Saharawi people’s right to self-determination and independence, during an audience granted to the President of the European Parliament delegation in charge of relations with the AMU countries, Pier Antonio Panzeri.
Mr. Ould Khelifa recalled that Algeria, which supports the right of peoples to decide their destiny, is not party to the conflict and that the European position with respect to the Western Sahara is of «utmost importance».
For his part, Mr. Panzeri considered it necessary to find solutions to issues of Western Sahara, Palestine and the Middle East in general, hailing the important role of Algeria in the preservation of stability in Libya, in Mali, in the region of the Sahel and in Africa. (SPS)
