Bir Lahlou, January 14, 2019 (SPS) – Saharawi President Ibrahim Ghali said that the destruction of the last stockpile of mines owned by the Polisario Front was a proof of «its good intention» and compliance with its commitment to the Geneva Call Organization in November 2005.
In this regard, Ghali claimed that over 7 million mines were still buried all along the military wall built by Morocco (wall of shame) and cause huge damage to the Sahrawi civilians.
The Sahrawi president outlined, in a message addressed to the UN’s General Secretary Antonio Guterres the constructive participation of the Polisario Front in the negotiations’ round held on 5 and 6 December in Geneva.
These proposals included the immediate cessation of all illegal commercial and economic activities carried out by Moroccan authorities and foreign companies in the Sahrawi territories. (SPS)
